Most Incredible News

I have just read the most incredible news here and here. I’m going to try and post this without putting too much puss into it. All Felicity seasons are going to be released on DVD starting with season one on Novemeber 5, 2002! Anyone who knows me also knows how much of a fan I am of this show. And anyone who was fortunate (or unfortunate depending on who you talk to) enough to get extremely personal with me knew exactly how much this show touched me on all levels. It’s the most amazing show and I was terribly saddened to see it leave the air a couple of months ago. Although it was a huge critical success, it never got a mainstream audience. The people who did watch it, though, did it religiously and I’m happy to say I was able to experience ever bit of it. Now, I’ll be able to do the same all over again. Amazon.com already has a page up for the DVDs. Yeah, this did have quite a bit of puss in it.

G4 Case & Motherboard Pictures

Update (2002-07-24, 1:44pm): At the request by Apple Legal, all Material and hyperlinks have been removed from this, and any other web site under our control.

It seems as though a couple of images said to be of the new G4 cases and motherboard along with a simple PDF explaining the main internal parts have been surfacing all over the net today. It has not been confirmed or denied that these pictures are genuine, but it is our opinion they are completely and blatantly fake. Let us know what you think.

More Hats

If you know me, then you know I’m a hat guy. I feel naked if I’m not wearing one. The last couple of months I’ve also turned into a big visor guy too. Been wearing a real cool Jagermeister visor that a friend gave to me a while back. Well, I just got in the mail my 2 new hats today. The first is this real cool visor for the Dale Jr. Budweiser racing team. The other is this not-as-cool hat for the same racing team. The hat doesn’t seem to be shaped very well so I’ll probably just pack it up with my other collectibles. I think I’m going to buy a couple more of the visors, though, because they’re damn cool and I like to collect things like that. If you can’t tell, I’m a NASCAR whore too.

My Sunday

I had a fairly unproductive day yesterday. Started off with calling my parent’s place to wish my brother a happy birthday, but he wasn’t home. Continued to watch the NASCAR race (which sucked a**). A friend came over a little later and we went out to lunch. Well, it was more like a tons of ice cream. After getting over my stomach ache, I called up Amanda. She came over and hung for a while.

Let me tell you how cool this girl is. She helped me with my laundry! Anyone who helps me with my laundry is automatically on my cool list because of the simple fact that laundry is the devil’s chore and I will always hate doing it with a passion. So what else you ask? Well, I started whining to myself about being hungry and said that we need to go out and get some food. Without a moment’s notice, she’s up in my kitchen scavenging for anything to make. Now I’ve had girls cook for me before, but it was usually a pre-planned type of deal. This was purely a spontaneous act and I was so damn happily caught off guard when it happened. I asked her to stay the night, but she turned me down. “Crash and burn Mav…” Come on people! It’s from Top Gun. So the day ended and although it was unproductive, I still had hella fun. Sorry about the Northern California “hella” slang.

My Saturday So Far

I just woke up from a quick hour nap. Before that, Amanda just went home since coming over yesterday and spending the night. She’s my cool redhead chick. I also took a trip over to Fry’s today to pick up an extra monitor. I’ve been in hell using a single display setup on my Mac ever since my Sony monitor took a major dump 5 months ago. Just brought home my new ViewSonic and it’s beautiful. Also purchased my copy of QuickTime 6 Pro. If you haven’t downloaded the new version for free yet, you better get your a** over there and do it. Mmm, more Mac goodness. Now I think I’m going to play Wipeout Fusion for an hour or so before I start to get ready to go out tonight. Oh man, I just read over what I wrote and there’s no way i’m going to be able to make this post anymore interesting. Maybe next time will be different. Oh well.

Site of the Day

Man you have to love Fark. I have no idea where they find stuff like this:

It’s most definitely the strangest thing I’ve seen in a while. Make sure to go to the bottom and click on the movie.

Oh Mac Goodness!

So another MacWorld keynote comes and goes, but with it’s passing it leaves behind a very bright future. Most people will probably view this show as a let down because of the minor hardware announcements. A lot of this “let down” is fueled by so-called rumors sites (such as MacOSRumors) thinking they can predict certain things from their “inside info” and then readers get upset when it doesn’t happen. What a surprise. Most of these rumor sites are already reporting on the expo saying it was boring and underwhelming (even with it not even close to being over yet). A lot of this seems to stem from the fact that they weren’t even allowed into the show and, in turn, decided to verbally bash Apple’s tactics and say things like “We’ll never go to another expo again!” Well, that’s a pretty interesting stance since you aren’t invited anymore. Childish if you ask me, but that’s what’s great about the internet I guess. Any ignorant a**hole like myself can get on and talk about anything they want. Here’s a fact for ya rumor site whores out there (you remember facts, don’t ya?): It doesn’t take a genius to predict what may happen at an expo like this if you keep up with industry news.

I, on the other hand, think this was an extremely good expo because of the large amount of very useful and innovative software announcements which showed a clear direction for Apple as a company. Yes, most of it was already known to the public, but the overall showcase was still very impressive. The new version of OS X looks amazing and is jam packed with new features. The .MAC strategy (although somewhat pricey in its current form) is proof positive that Apple sees a much bigger picture and is taking the necessary steps towards a much broader product and service offering in the future. Also, unlike Microsoft’s .NET strategy, .MAC works. I already laid down my $49.95 for the .MAC service and am looking forward to every bit of it. What can I say? I’m such an Apple whore!

Mac Users Are Smarter

As a long-standing and dedicated Mac user, you can understand how this article from CNet caught my attention right away. It reports on a study done by Nielsen/NetRatings which basically says Mac users are smarter than PC users. Here’s a couple of main point from that report:

  • 70.2 percent of Mac users online have a college degree, compared to 54.2 percent of all Web surfers.
  • Mac users are 58 percent more likely than the general online population to build their own website.
  • 8.2 percent of Americans who surf the Web at home use a Mac, even though Apple’s total computer sales amount to less than 5 percent of the overall US PC market.

I’m sure the study is (to put it bluntly) complete bullsh*t. In any case, it’s still very amusing and something kind of neat to show off to all of you PC users out there. Now don’t get me wrong. PC’s have their place. I own a PC, I love my PC, and for me, I simply need both my Mac and my PC to live in perfect harmony.

To conclude, I’d like to apologize to all of the PC users out there who couldn’t comprehend what I just talked about because I used words that were longer than 4 characters. I’m truly sorry.
