A friend just showed me this very simple site that creates all of the scripts you need to make links on your own site to the iTunes Music Store. You should go and try out Apple’s iTunes Link Maker. If you talk about a lot of music, I don’t see how it’d be bad to reference your links with it. Decided to do one myself and considering the events of the week I thought it was kinda nice to do it for the brilliant Elliott Smith. Keep in mind that link will only work if you have iTunes installed.
Will (insert nastiness here) For Food
Looks like I’m gonna have to handcuff myself to my chair for the rest of the month because I’m officially out of spending money until November. That or pull a “magic” trick, David Blaine style, and lock myself in a container drinking only water. Why? Car registration came in the mail about a week ago and it had a little surprise I wasn’t expecting on it. Well, 4 little surprises to be exact. Turns out I had 4 unpaid parking tickets from 2002 and they needed to be cleared before I could register my car. They could have only costed me a total of $80 if I would have paid them on time, but it looks like the price rose to just over $300. That on top of the my rent being raised, the extra costs to fix the Acura, a cell phone bill that got a little out of control, and the unforeseen food nourishment expenses (you mean I have to eat?)… well it’s just all bad budgeting on my part. I mean I put a good amount aside with every check and then lay out a certain amount to blow away on whatever. It just so happens that I’ve gone through my month’s supply in the first week somehow. If there was ever a reason I need a girl around, it’d be to watch the money flow (heard they’re good at that). I might need to advance my check next week just so I can get out to Arizona for my friend’s firefighter graduation. Oh well. No big deal I guess. As soon as the new month starts, everything is fine again. Until then, I’m gonna have to head on over to the parent’s place and steal every last bit of their food to survive.
Stick Figures
Ok, I know a lot of people would disagree on this one, but it’s going up anyway. Why? Because I do think it’s one of the scariest movies ever made. I’m talking about The Blair Witch Project here and the “stick figure” graces the current background. The key to enjoying this movie is watching it with the right people.

PC iTunes Comes Out Swingin'
BBC News: “Music fans have bought more than a million songs since the service for Windows users was launched on Thursday… Apple has another cause to celebrate. More than a million copies of the Windows version of its iTunes music software have been downloaded in the past three days.”
Caddy's CTS-V Going Racing
Look for Cadillac’s new CTS-V to compete in the American Le Mans series. Here are newly released spy shots of the race ready car roarin’ around Germany. Mmm.
One Hot Ass Boring Weekend
It’s mid-October and I have no idea why the hell it’s so damn hot. This entire weekend was just hot hot. Our high here in the valley was 94 degrees today (well, yesterday now). Come on now! I thought it was suppose to be fall already. It should come down to about 80 by the end of the week so I’m looking forward to that. I don’t want to even think about how hot it’s going to be in Arizona when I visit there in 2 weeks.
So what did I do this weekend? Hmm. Absolutely nothing. It wasn’t even close to nice. Bored out of my mind really. Sundays have turned into quite the same routine lately. I get up just to go out into the living room to take a nap before football starts. Then when it does start, I basically live on my couch with my Powerbook until about 4pm watching my teams suck the big one and trying to figure out if I’m going into work crying the next day because my fantasy football team lost or not.
I think the only thing I did that was even remotely interesting was see The Texas Chainsaw Massacre on Friday. It’s a real good remake and helped a lot to get me into an even bigger Halloween mood. Nice and scary. If you’re into those type of movies, it’s not to be missed.
Yes, very productive was I this weekend. Very productive indeed. Oh well, though. I guess you have to have a weekend like this every once in a while. I think the fact that I was just low on spending cash contributed a lot to it. In fact, I might be having another Ramen week here. It’s an hour into Monday right now and I already can’t wait for this week to be over. Good luck to us all…
Young Frankenstein
A little late on this one, but here it is. You can’t call it a “scary” movie, but I think it definitely fits with Halloween. Here’s Fredrick Frankenstein from the movie, Young Frankenstein.
iTunes For Everyone
Now Windows gets the best digital jukebox ever and it’s completely free. They also have complete access to the second generation iTunes Music Store (easily the best online music service out there). You can also now get your hands on some real sweet accessories for your iPod. No more reasons for the Window-philes to be jealous. Wipe up your tears and go get it all.
Volume Logic Issue w/ Reponse
So I was trying out Volume Logic for some time today but found the volume levels to be so inconsistant while toggling the plug-in on and off. The plug-in was definitely louder and this made doing quality comparisons extremely difficult, so I wrote them:
Me: “Great idea you have here. This is exactly what I was expecting more third-parties to do. I hope it works out well, but why in the world is the volume level with the plug-in turned on so much louder than without it turned on? It’s too hard to compare the quality when toggling the plug-in on and off. Until volume levels get evenned out, there’s no way to tell whether it’s helping or not. Thanx.”
Them: “We’re getting lots of feedback on volume issues. In our testing, most folks preferred a louder setting in general. This does make comparisons hard to do. We’re looking at our options, like adding an output level slider, and reworking our settings.”
