GarageBand First Thoughts

Survey says… wicked awesome!!! If you have a Mac, you need to go and pick it up GarageBand (along with all the other iLife ’04 apps) tonight. I don’t think I’m going out all weekend now. I also ordered last week the M-Audio midi controller for it but everyone seems to be out of them for the next couple of days. Oh well. More to come most definitely.

Oh, here are a couple of decent GarageBand sites. Small right now but I can see them being a good resource in the future.

L.A. Auto Show… Twilight Zone Style

Once again the auto show comes to town and once again, I forget my mono-pod for my camera. I got a whole batch of blurry, under/overexposed shots for ya in my gallery. Go take a look. So not only did I manage to take a whole bunch of crappy shots, I was able to run into at least 3 ex-girl somethings. Not sure what to classify them under. Just people I use to “hang out” with. Anyway, I turn and basically jog the other way anytime I’d see them. Pretty surreal. An episode from the twilight zone or something. Maybe they were forming a club and plotting to kill me. Hmm. Maybe I just had too wine and walking. Anyway, does anyone have any favorites from the L.A. or Detroit show? Highlights were definitely the C6 and Solstice for me. The Scion tC, Lexus IS430, and Mitsubishi Eclipse Concept E were also very nice. Oh, that new Mustang… I thought it was ugly in just the pictures. It’s ten times worse in person. Talk about a completely unoriginal and lazy design.

Blogging MacWorld

Since my morning is kinda relaxed, I’m gonna blog the MacWorld keynote that Jobs should be giving any minute now. Looks like it’s gonna be interesting.

Update: F this! I can’t get a good stream anywhere. You can check here for live updates.

More Autos

Here are some more press auto images of some of the automobiles being released this week. See anything you like? Anything you don’t like? The production Pontiac Solstice looks like it’s gonna be a fun little ride. That’s pure Bob Lutz influence there that’s carried over almost flawlessly from the concept introduced a couple years ago. Oh, and I’m sure you can’t guess what car I absolutely hate. ;)

New Year's Relapse

It’s back to work already. You would think most people would have this day off but that doesn’t seem to be the case. I guess the up side to the whole deal is it feels like Monday, but is really Friday. I hope everyone had a good New Year’s. I think I had one.

New Year’s Eve started out at work and with some nasty allergic reaction to something. Don’t ask me what because I have no idea. My face was bright ass red and the skin was super rough. It was basically like a real bad sunburn. I couldn’t smile or even blink without hurting. I was only at work for something like 5 hours and left ask quickly as I could. Just wanted to get home and sleep so I could be up and ready for the festivities. That didn’t happen. I hung out with a friend for a little bit before we went over to my parent’s house. Loaded up on food and then took off around 10pm back to my place so I could change and meet up with another friend.

After a brief shower and about 4 quick vodka shots, we were off to some house party. That only took something like an hour to find. We basically walked in around 11:15pm and headed straight to the bar where I loaded up on my vodka tonics. Went downstairs and watched my friend rip his pants on the dance floor. Went back upstairs to do the countdown. Went back downstairs to eat more and hang out. Left around 2am.

At this point, everything is a complete blur and am only telling ya what my friends told me. We’re driving home and I’m calling everyone and their mothers. If I called ya, I’m so sorry. It’s just one of those things I do. I just start going down the list and hitting call. Anyway, my friends tell me as soon as I get up to my place that I basically dropped to the floor and passed out. Good new year’s I guess.

Yesterday, I was basically out of commission. Went over to the parent’s house again to watch the game (there should be no doubt as to who the best in the country is now) and eat dinner. Went home and played video games the rest of the night with a friend before I went to sleep. Now I’m here at work. :(

How was everyone else’s New Year’s?

C6 Arrives… And It Is Good

I’m always able to count on one thing at the start of the new year. All of the new automobile announcements at the North American auto shows in L.A. and Detroit. Detroit is gonna bring us the C6 in a couple of days, but you can already get your first official look here with way more than enough info on it. drool

Considered more of an evolution than revolution, the new Vette carries over many styling cues from the current generation C5, but with modern updates like the flushed headlamps and wheels pushed out even further to the corners of the car. The interior has been completely reworked but retains its great ergonomics. This was by far my biggest complaint about the current C5 with its cheap interior. You can’t talk Vette without talking engines and this new one is definitely something to write home about. The new 6.0 liter LS2 small block V8 pumping out 400 horses powers the 3245 lbs beast. There’s simply no replacement for displacement. Then there’s the Z51 Performance Package that updates the “standard” C6 with better breaks, suspension, and rubber that bring the performance of the car up to par with the awesome C5 Z06.

Umm, yeah. You could say that I’m definitely excited about this thing. Let’s see some pricing please because I want.

LA Auto Show & The New C6

The LA Auto Show is in full swing and you can check here and here for periodic updates. With it brings all of the new auto goodies to drool over. Oh yeah. Just when I started to think Chevrolet isn’t doing anything exciting anymore, along comes An American Revolution. Watch the longer 2 minute commercial and get a good look at the new C6. I need that car.

The Exchange Game

Everyone plays it, especially the day after Christmas, and I was no exception. That’s right people. It’s the exchange game, where everyone is a winner eventually. Overall, the gifts I got were great, but there was that one. You know the one I’m talking about. For me, it was the Kordell Stewart jersey that I was more than happy to return. Why? Well, it’s Kordell Stewart. God bless gift receipts. I took the thing right back where it came from where I’m sure it’ll show up in the bargain bin in another month. I was looking for an A-train jersey but the store was pretty bone dry so I got a new Avs jersey to replace my old one. What crappy gifts are you playing the exchange game with?

Christmas Eve

Just got home from work and have no idea what to do. Our family doesn’t really do any celebrating on Xmas eve. My Christmas balls have too much tinsel. I heard that somewhere today. Not quite sure where. Guess I’ll head on over to the parent’s and see what’s going on there. I still have a ton of items to wrap so I can steal all of their wrapping paper. Maybe watch a couple more holiday movies while I’m there.
