The Winds Of Change… Eventually

For the last year I’ve been trying to come up with a new name for this site. the-journals.com was originally intended for something completely different, but it fell through because my friends are slackers and it was just convenient to take it over for my blog. The truth is I’ve never really liked the name. Too generic. Too boring. Not personal enough. Over the last year I’ve bought countless domain names when any idea popped up in my head. I think that’s all done now with this weekend bringing me a name that I really like.

Anyway, let’s see how long it actually takes me to get it up. It’s not like I have to do tons of work. I’ve just been in a damn lazy mood the entire year.

Note To Self… Revisited

I was looking through some old posts and found a note to self written a little more than a year ago. It’s what happens when I have too much time to think. Was kinda interesting so I thought I’d put it out there again. It’s funny. A year has past and I pretty much feel the same way. Talk about a lack of progression.

Blackout

Hmm. We just had a blackout for like 10 minutes. Everyone in the complex was up and walking around with candles. All is well now, though. We had quite the rain and lightning on Wednesday so I’m guessing that had something to do with it. Los Angeles basically shuts down when it rains that hard, but I love it. Tonight was straight “get down, make love” weather.

By the way, if you haven’t seen the Paris Hilton sex video yet, enjoy (NSFW). Read more about it here. She’s now officially in my top 20. If you’re on Mac OSX, you can download the new Windows Media Player 9 released last week to view the video.

Best Buy Tuesday

I haven’t been able to do one of my larger spending sprees on Tuesday for a while now, but today broke that pattern. Enter Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Finding Nemo, John Mayer: Any Given Thursday, and Steven Spielberg Presents: Taken. Mmm, 10 hour mini-series.

I took a little trip to the witch doctors today and boy oh boy, that was a lot of fun. I get there at 2pm with no appointment and leave 3 hours later. The actual examination took no more than 5 minutes. Is this seriously how it’s suppose to work? There’s gotta be a better way to streamline whatever god awful process they’re using to get patients in and out of there. Time for someone to pull out a root cause. The good news is I didn’t have to get any shots (scary needles). The bad news is I have bronchitis. I called the parents to tell them what was going on (because they should at least pretend to be concerned about what happens to their little boy’s life). Apparently I’ve had it many times as a baby. Thanx for the “heads up” Mom and Pop. In turn, I go and steal all of their food, drinks, and toilet paper. It’s nice to live close the the parents. ;)

A Man, His Beggin' Strips, & A Mission

The Sneeze: “I know these snacks aren’t made for human consumption, but while I was in the store the ingredients list looked pretty tame so I wasn’t too concerned… I’m sad to report that I did not run around the house yelling ‘Bacon!’ I did, however, run around the house yelling ‘Call 911!'”

The whole damn site is way too funny for you to not read it. Thanx for the find Mark.

Thoughts From The Bowl: Revo-COUGH-COUGH-lutions

I had your basic cold a little more than a month ago and I’m still dealing with the damn cough from it. It’s all you hear from me, day in and day out. Go ahead and ask anyone I work with. They’ll tell ya. I figure you leave it alone and it’ll go away, right? Apparently, that’s dead wrong. It got so bad this weekend that I couldn’t go out last night. Definitely not a good thing. Everyone is saying take it to the doctor. Nay, I tell them, nay. What do those sorcerers know? Nothing but a bunch of witchcraft and voodoo is what I say. Anyways, I’m deathly afraid of needles and doctor offices tend to carry those around.

Anyone else see The Matrix Revolutions? Did you like it? I really don’t know what to think after seeing it. It had its ups and downs. I think I’m understanding the concepts they were trying to get across but it was done in such a convoluted and muddled way. They tried to appeal to a number of different audiences and, in turn, none of it came out extraordinary. Ok, I take that back. Like the two other movies, Revolutions was very impressive technically.

So where’s the damn rain? The weather report called for rain today. It sure looks like it’s gonna rain, but it’s not raining. What the hell gives here? It also say we have rain coming up on Wednesday. You better take care of this, Lord. If you don’t you’re gonna have me on your hands.

Elisha For All

March 12th, 2004. Mark that day because my #1, Miss Cuthbert, is starring in her own movie, The Girl Next Door. I have no idea what it’s about but the poster looks great. Mmm.

It's OK

I don’t feel like doing that weekend update right now but I will leave you with one image from all of the photos taken. This is what happens to you when you’re the first one to pass out. Unfortunately, I’m usually the first. I’ll try and get this past weekend’s album up tonight or tomorrow night.
