Halo 2 Day
Nothing new to report. Standing outside and waiting for 2 hours with 200-300 dorks wasn’t as exciting as I thought it would be. Go figure. Was it worth it? Ya damn right it was worth it. Halo 2 is easily the best game on Xbox and the best game of the year.

Was home today to play the game, but it seems that I’m actually feeling pretty sick. I guess now I don’t feel so bad about staying home. Plus, I have the warm glow of the TV screen to keep me warm all day now. If you have an Xbox, this is a no brainer. You need this game.
Halo 2 Night
Me: “…and on the eighth day, the lord said, ‘Let there be Halo 2’, and there was much rejoicing, for the game geek brethern’s salvation had finally arrived and with great vigor.”
Tonight at midnight, I’ll be beside my brotherhood of game geekdom at my local GameStop to pick up what will, no doubt, be the greatest game ever made. I’m speaking of the Holy Grail of console gaming. A game so powerful and eagerly anticipated for at least the last 3 years, that I will have no choice but to surely cry at the sight and sounds of. I am, of course, talking about Halo 2. There will be no rest tonight. There will be play. Much much play. I’m sure to record as much of the excitement as I can with photos, video, audio, and text just to be thrown up on here as the night progresses and I sink slowly and surely into video game bliss.

Here are some comments from a previous post. I’m responding here because Radio doesn’t give you control of the data tables for comments and I want a record of my response.

We will no longer sit still while people tear away at the morality of this country because as soon as the morality falls, the country will be destroyed (just look at history for proof).”
Since you’re being so vague about what you think the morality of this country actually is, I’ll just assume you’re with the masses and are basing the country’s morality on Christian beliefs. Here is the biggest problem I see. You are getting your personal beliefs confused with what the founding fathers actually meant and what the country’s morality was intended to be. “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” What that says to me is that everyone should be allowed to live their lives the way that makes them the happiest. Where in that does it say everyone must adopt the popular belief? I find it completely un-American to force people into your on personal bubble. This is the exact opposite of progression. That one line there is screaming “Americans are tolerable of everyone”. One thing that I’ve learned during this little “war” of ours, Democracy doesn’t work for everyone. Same goes for religious beliefs.

Yeah. Because we’re right and everyone else is wrong. It’s that black and white, right? And who cares what countries we destroy to get what we want?

Defending ourselves is one thing. Killing over 100,000 non-threatening Iraqi citizens is another.
“No, Iraq did not have connections to 9-11, but Saddam was a threat to the US and the whole world (even Kerry admited this until he changed his mind).”
Saddam was no threat to us. Even if he was, it doesn’t justify Bush lying to you and me so that he could invade a country and pull attention away from the real issues at the time.
“Yes, I do disagree with most of the Patriot Act, but I believe that Congress will scale it back. It was a good idea that carried to far.”
The Bush administration did it once and now that they have another term and support from the popular vote, do you seriously think they’re feeling like they need to be more careful this time around? Wishful thinking on your part. This week, the American people told Bush to basically “keep it up”. Good luck to us all…

Congratulations America. You have just chosen another 4 years of having your rights raped and having the rest of the world hate us even more. The world is officially ending and most Americans couldn’t be happier. If you voted for Bush, let me just first say, fuck all of you assholes.
I’m having a real hard time dealing with this. It’s simply beyond my rationalization how an unpopular president 4 years ago can be voted in by the American people, especially considering everything he has done in the past 4 years. What does that say about us? I mean here in California, we did our part. What about those middle state Americans? You fucking redneck, racist, gun waving, hate everything that’s not white, straight, and God fearing bastards. You live inside of your little box with your big gun, little penis, and the want to destroy everything that doesn’t conform to your fucked up world showing absolutely no tolerance what so ever. I would have hoped that a majority of the country was beyond things like this, ya know? A little bit of progress through tolerance here and there. When you see 11 states all voting and passing to ban gay marriages in one night, you see exactly how ignorant and close-minded the people in this country really are and how little progress has really been made.
I am sickened, disgusted, and just plain saddened beyond belief. I was literally brought to tears this morning when I heard in the car coming into work about Kerry conceeding. I don’t know. You get into this state where you feel like all hope is lost and that there is simply not enough anyone can do to change anything. It’s hard to just function right now. I guess we have to just remember that is country is greater than any one man or party, but it sure is easy to forget, especially today.
