Catching Up

I am way behind here. I was going over some recent photos I’ve shot and it seems as though there are a fair amount of albums to put up. A lot of good stuff from the Del on V-day. Some shots from hiking. Basically, there’s a lot. I’ll see what I can do this week.

The weekend went by way too quick. There was work most of the day Saturday and the rest of the time was spent resting. I’ve been dealing with some sort of ear ache for the last 3 weeks. Doc said it was an ear inflammation and gave me a bunch of drugs to take but nothing has helped. Looks like I’ll be making another appointment tomorrow I guess. Kinda scary really because I have no idea what it is and it’s really making my head and neck hurt. Feels like I just need to pop my ears and everything will be fine, but that isn’t happening either. We’ll see I guess.

So yeah. I haven’t been posting for a while. I haven’t been really doing anything for a while with anything. I’m absolutely surprised that I was able to change over the site with the time I had. Ya see, there’s this new girl—— and I’m having problems not spending time with her. It’s not really a problem at all because I love spending that time with her. She’ll be gone all next weekend so I’ll have to make some time to catch up with the guys.

The living situation has finally gotten to me. My stupid, fat, inconsiderate, slob of a roommate has pretty much pushed me over the edge and I’ve started looking for a new place. I wanted to start looking for a place to buy, but that’s going to be put off for another year of saving up. No rush I guess. Looks like I’ll either be living by myself or in a house with a bunch of friends. Either way is fine with me because that means I wont have to live with my current roommate and that’s all I care about right now.

Alright. That should be enough of an update for now. Time to get some sleep.

2 Years: New name, same crap…

Two years ago today, I posted for the very first time on the-journals.com. Yup, two years. That’s a grand total of 543 posts full of nothing but pure poo poo. What better way to celebrate than to kill it off. So starting today, the-journals.com is now IncompleteMe.com. It’s very fitting if you ask me. I can start things, but I always have that little problem of finishing them. Anyway, I’m diggin’ the new sub-title, but unofficially it should be called “IncompleteMe.com: Different name, same crap…”.

So the different design rips off a couple of ideas from other sites. I’ll be the first to admit that. I don’t have a single creative bone in my body. Deal with it. I figure I’ll be changing out the title image every week or so. Thank you Dave for that idea. I’ll also be throwing together a section of all the title images I’ll have used here and their unedited originals. As far as my color scheme goes, well they’re ripped off straight from here. Sorry Apple. They looked too nice together and I couldn’t help it.

I know I haven’t been updating lately and there are reasons for that. I’m going to make an effort, though, to get back into consistant rhythm. Who knows? Maybe it’ll get interesting once again. Good luck to us all…

Nikon D70 Looking Good

Digital Photography Review: “…it was fairly clear that Canon (EOS 300D) were offering a formidable package at an excellent price which would be the mark for affordable digital SLR’s of the future, with image quality almost identical to the EOS 10D and a sub-$1000 price it caused a significant ripple in the market. Now however it’s clear that Nikon were well aware of this and had the D70 up their sleeve, a camera which is a significant step ahead of the EOS 300D in terms of build quality and feature set and a match, and in some instances better from an image quality point of view.”

Interesting. I was expecting Canon’s EOS 300D to lay an ass whooping on Nikon’s D70. Looks like that’s not the case at all. Something to definitely check out if you’re looking into D-SLR territory. The D70 seems to also give you no reason to check out a D100 anymore (not that there ever was a reason to begin with).

I’m still debating on which D-SLR to get. With a couple of friends recently purchasing the Sony F828, it just helps to fuel my interest. I’m thinking I want to wait for a revision to either the Canon EOS 300D or 10D at this point just to see if they’ll bring down that great CMOS they’re using in the new EOS 1D Mark II.

Racial Profiling

So guess what? I’m bored. So bored, in fact, that I took my Eye-One Photo color profiler and decided to get a profile of my skin tone. Here ya go.

It works out to be (147, 121, 109) for RGB values, #93796D for html color, or about PANTONE 8021 M for Pantone solid matte values.

Jersey Dead Girls

So I saw Jersey Girl last night and I have a short, sweet review for ya. Swing and a miss. It was cute, but it wasn’t cute enough for the genre. It was funny, but not funny enough. It was touching, but just not touching enough. Maybe I was expecting too much. I’m a little disappointed, but hey, Smith took a swing at it and he should get a little credit for that. I just wish he would have thrown in a little more of that snappy Smith-esque dialog. Oh well. Now let’s wash that taste out of our mouths and look forward to The Green Hornet in 2005.

Oh, everyone is telling me how good Dawn of the Dead is. I had no intention of seeing this before, but now I’m gonna check it out here soon. My horror film fanatic nut friends are saying it’s one of the freakiest movies they’ve ever seen. If that’s the case, then it must be true. Bring it!

While I’m on movies right now, I should tell ya about this preview I saw. I should be ashamed to admit this, but I can’t help it. The trailer made me giggle quite a bit so I’ll be dragging my friends to see Mean Girls with me now. Looks good, yeah? Ok, maybe not, but Lindsay Lohan is freakin’ hot! Congratulations Lindsay. You just earned a secure #2 spot in my top 5 list.

Outdated Before In Hand

Beef dis! I go and order the new(?) Jabra FreeSpeak BT250. It’s getting awesome reviews and looks to be the cream of the crop when it comes to Bluetooth headsets. A day later, Jabra announces updates to the BT250, the BT500 and BT800. WTF?! The BT250 just started shipping in January and they have to go and announce successors already? Oh well. I guess I can take a little peace with me knowing that the new versions wont be out until Q3 2004 (which I’ll probably get now). After I get my hands my headset tomorrow, I’ll probably still throw up a quick review.
