Superman Returns

Ok, how old am I again?! I mean I found myself constantly tightening up every muscle in my body during the intensity. I surprised myself laughing at every corny joke. I even caught myself tearing up every time he fell. And I just couldn’t help but cheering and clapping for the victories. Superman Returns is done in the spirit of the 1978 movie and it’s a successful homage to the Donner flick in every way. It’s safe to say the franchise is in great hands with Bryan Singer. This is one I’ll be seeing many times over in the theater for sure. I’m a kid all over again in absolute awe at how big this movie is and the feeling is priceless.

Spider-Man 3!!!

Jeez. I’ve been having a super hero overload for the past couple of weeks and the fact the Spider-Man 3 trailer was released today is definitely not helping. Looks like they’re going to do it right with the symbiote, Eddie Brock, and Gwen Stacy added into the mix. Looks amazing!

Superman Now Please

Just another 22 hours and 46 minutes until I see Superman Returns on the IMAX at Universal. I hope I’m not setting myself up for a huge disappointment, but I have a feeling it’s going to be simply fantastic. The fact they are continuing from the previous movies and aren’t rewriting the timeline is great. I’ve heard everything is done in the spirit of the original Donner film and that’s good news because that movie has always been and always will be amazing. They’re even keeping the major score themes by John Williams. It just can’t suck.

A Quickie

Well I’m definitely not posting as much as I’d like to this year. It’s not like much isn’t happening. I’m just not in the posting mood for some reason. Maybe I’m just lazy. In any case, I’m here right now. I’ll just update with some short, random comments.

– After jebus knows how many years, my company has finally gotten on the ball and put a 401k plan in place. It’s about damn time.

– It was Grant’s b-day on Tuesday so head on over to his MySpace and send him wishes. He also had sex for the first time in like umpteenth years so congrat him for that also. Way to go G-Rant. I’m sure he appreciates me mentioning it too.

– Have put 1500 miles on my new toy in the last 4 weeks. It’s kinda a lot so I’ll probably tone it down and ride the other bike to work for a little bit. It gets better gas mileage anyways.

– How f-ing stupid was X-men 3? X2 completely set everything up to be so good and then the studios grace us with that total piece of crap follow up. I left that movie angry.

– Speaking of super hero movies, I can’t wait for Superman Returns! It’s going to be amazing for sure. They kept the same inspiring John Williams theme for it and that don’t suck. Hopefully seeing it on an IMAX screen next Tuesday.

– I can’t seem to get my weight to drop under 160 consistently. Had no problems getting it from 195 to 165, but it’s just stuck at 160 right now. Want to get rid of another 10 lbs before the 10 year high school reunion in a month.

Alright, it’s back to work for me, but I’ll see what I can come up with later.

2006 Honda CBR600RR… It’s All Mine!

Been looking for a while now and after riding all ’06 600s, I finally decided on the CBR600RR. Simply amazing. It’s funny how you start off saying “I want something unique” but in the end it turned out to be a red Honda. Even though it’s the oldest of the 600s now, there’s a reason why they outsell every other 600 on the market. Had to go with red too because it’s just the nicest color on the bike and all of my cars are red. I think I made a good decision here and an even better one before when I bought the GS which I don’t ever plan on giving up. Because of that, now more than ever, I’m a firm believer that these 600 super sports are just too much bike for the person just starting out.

I just picked it up last night. Been working with the dealer for some time now and they finally gave me a deal I just wasn’t able to pass up. $8884.01 OTD with $955 down and the rest financed through my credit union for 5%. That was for the bike, a 5 year extended warranty, GAP coverage, and some very good discounts on gear. Like I said. Just couldn’t pass it up. Full coverage is going to add another $600 to my policy per year and that doesn’t suck either. I’ve locked it up inside my parent’s house for right now until I get it on my policy. After that, I can look forward to 600 miles of break-in time and another infinite miles of riding bliss. Now for some crappy camera phone pics. I’ll put up some nicer ones later, but you can see more crappy ones in my gallery.

Jury Duty Done

Well that was easy. I was in there for maybe two hours before they told us we could all leave. Said we were lucky because here were five cases at the time and all of them made decisions real quick. They dismissed us. I don’t have to call back. I don’t have to go back. My obligation is fulfilled. Go me!

Jury Duty

Well, I report for jury duty for the very first time in my life on Wednesday morning. I have no idea what to expect. The only thing I am sure of is how pissed off I am about it and having to go into work after I’m done. Hopefully it’s just one day and I’m out, but I’ve heard the horror stories. Hope I don’t have one of my own. I’m sure I’ll be on here bitching about the entire thing soon enough too.

Dale Jr’s Black Car

Fox Sports: “The usually red No. 8 will be predominantly black with white lettering and silver and red stripes in honor of the life and brilliant career of the late Dale Earnhardt. The paint scheme mimics the design the elder Earnhardt made famous in his career while driving for Richard Childress Racing in the Cup Series and Dale Earnhardt Inc. (DEI) in the Busch Series.”

I love it! Can’t wait for the die-cast to become available.
