Last night, I got to see Mr. Show Live over at UCLA. What a damn hillarious show that was. They had a lot of technical problems in the begining with the mics, but I think it actually added to the comedy instead of taking away from it. It was a great show. Anyway, we’re trying to get tickets right now to see the Clash of the Titans show featuring the Kids in the Hall, Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, Janeane Garofalo, and Mr. Show with Bob & David. Tell me that’s not going to be a kick ass show!?!

I just got my StyleCam Blink in the mail. The thing looks like a wonderfully tiny piece of crap camera. At only $40, you can’t complain much. CNN is reporting that after months of searching, a group of researchers have found the world’s funniest joke. Here it is:

Two hunters are out in the woods when one of them collapses. He doesn’t seem to be breathing and his eyes are glazed. The other guy takes out his phone and calls the emergency services.
He gasps: “My friend is dead! What can I do?” The operator says: “Calm down, I can help. First, let’s make sure he’s dead.” There is a silence, then a gunshot is heard. Back on the phone, the guy says: “OK, now what?”

Oh man, I love the month of October and it’s just because it contains my favorite day of the year… Halloween. It’s more than just a special day and time of the year though. It’s an overall feeling I get and I have no idea how to describe it. The air gets colder. The skies grow greyer. The leaves turn browner. Fall is here. It’s like the entire world de-saturates… and I love it. So to pay tribute to my favorite time of the year, I’ll be doing a series of Halloween/Fall themes for the-journals.com (all equally sucky). This first one I did and it’s pretty bad, but there should be better ones on the way with help from my much more creative friends. I’m going to try and change them up every 3 or 4 days. I can’t believe I missed this. After 1,757 days and 58,747,597,657 work units being tested, the RC5-64 project has now been completed. The RC5-64 project is one of the largest distributed computing projects ever. Back in mid-July, a PIII-450 in Tokyo returned the winning key to the distributed.net keyservers. Only recently has it been discovered because of a breakage in scripts. The key (0x63DE7DC154F4D039) produces the plaintext output:

I love coming back from Electronic Boutique with a couple of new games. I picked up Unreal Tournament 2003 and Battlefield 1942 today and break in process is going great!

We watched USC football play Oregon St. Go USC!!! Though I think Battlefield (or BF as I like to call him) is a bit of an Oregon St. fan.

I kicked the crap out of them in Halo. Well, they beat me in the first round but I took the last 2.

After dinner and a long day, I made sure they brushed their teeth. Our games can’t have bad breath and germs.

Finally the day came to an end. We all had a lot of fun together and we can’t wait to wake up the next morning to watch a little pro football. UT and I have a bet on the Bears/Bills game. I think he’ll be owing me some money at the end of that one. Until then, it’s sleepy time for us.

I’m going to be screwing around with the-journals.com design for the next couple of weeks so you’re going to be seeing a lot of different (and sucky) themes popping up here and there. Any feedback is appriciated. One thing you will probably notice is that it’s all going to stay very simple and not very interesting (much like the content I post). I’m a big fan of simple and clean design and I think it works especially well on blogs such as this one.

Oh please do. I know you’re just saving yourself for me. It’s a dirty dirty lie I tell ya.

Alright people, we are looking to move a little money around in the NFL Pick’em group. SMASH’EM and I came up with a little pool that would take place every week. Everyone would put in $5 (or whatever we can all agree on) and person with the highest score for that week takes the entire pot. Now since most of us never see each other, we have to find an alternative to physical currency exchanges. The answer is PayPal. Most online users have PayPal accounts now (and if you don’t, it’s free to sign up) and it’s super easy to transfer money from account to account, so it makes sense to go with this system. You also get a free $5 when you sign up so your first week of losing is actually free. Of course, you don’t have to be included in the pool if you don’t want to, but I’m thinking it will be a lot more interesting (and a lot more fun) if you do decide to do it.
